Congress criticizes VMC's decision to shift butterfly park to Ajwa Garden
VADODARA: The city Congress has criticized the Vadodara Municipal Corporation’s (VMC) move to shift the butterfly park from Kamatibaug to Ajwa Garden. The civic body had earlier decided to construct a butterfly park in Kamatibaug but the project was opposed by morning walkers and Congress workers too. It was argued that the garden was being turned into a concrete park. The civic body, however, went ahead with the project for a while and even began constructing wall around the place proposed for the park.

A proposal was brought in VMC standing committee to shift the butterfly park to Ajwa Garden. “The VMC should accept responsibility for the failed concept. Making a butterfly park in Kamatibaug was never a good idea. And now the VMC is planning to shift the park to Ajwa Garden. The project won’t succeed even at Ajwa. Butterflies require proper environ and climate to survive and such project had failed in Surat. VMC should use money for better projects,” said Congress city president, Narendra Rawat.
