Now, Subbaraj has alleged that the film's producer S Kathiresan, had sold the Hindi remake rights of the film to Sajid Nadiadwala, without intimating him or giving him the 40% share of the revenue generated out of this sale, as initially promised.

According to a statement released to the media, the director has said that after filing a complaint with the Tamil Nadu Film Director's Union, several meetings were conducted with the Producer's Council to settle the issue amicably, but in vain.

"Following which, I filed a case in Madras High Court and now the court has issued Stay Order in selling the remake rights of the movie," the director has said. According to the statement, the Madras High Court has ordered the interim injunction on the Hindi remake of the film. The stay has been granted until June 11, 2015.
