Strongly condemning the spree of fatal attacks on cellular operators and civilians associated with telecom franchise business, MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami and MLA Khan Sahib Hakim Mohammad Yaseen have expressed serious concern over the fallout of such attacks on normal life in Kashmir. In a joint statement issued here, the two leaders demanded that the guilty be immediately identified and stern punishment be awarded to them. They said that the killing of an operator and a deadly attack on a civilian who had donated land to a telecom company in Pattan have not only resulted into network breakdown but has hit the business community in North Kashmir badly.“J&K is suffering from mounting unemployment problem and in such circumstances telecom business had provided a ray of hope to the qualified unemployed youth. The cellular services have become a lifeline for the people both in terms of communication and the business. The government must ensure that adequate measures are taken to ensure their safety and hassle free telecom,” Tarigami and Hakim demanded.

Meanwhile, the two leaders have appealed the people of Budgam to maintain peace and social harmony so that the forces trying to disrupt the peaceful environs for their petty interests are defeated. They also cautioned people against machinations of anti social elements.  “All such elements are fomenting trouble for their petty interests. The people of both the sects are appealed not to fall prey to such anti social elements,” the two senior leaders observed, while asking the administration to deal with the miscreants trying to foment trouble by remaining in close touch with the people so that the age-old traditional brotherhood is maintained.
