Sonia Gandhi on a day tour of her parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli on Thursday over saw passing of a resolution condemning the Modi government for neglecting her constituency.
Though Gandhi did not make any comments, she presided over an official district monitoring committee meeting where the resolution was passed. Minister in the Samajwadi Party government of the state Manoj Pandey who is also an MLA from Rae Bareli was present at the meeting when the resolution was passed.
He later told the media that he had proposed a resolution condemning the move to reduce the budget for Rae Bareli under the PM Gramin Sadak Yojana, which was read out by Gandhi and later passed by those attending the meeting.
Pandey said that the contribution of the Akhilesh Yadav gove r nment was praised in the same meeting. Earlier Sonia Gandhi met families of the victims of the Bachrawan train accident which took place recently. She distributed cheques of Rs 2 lakh each and also gave a job appointment letter to a widow.
She also unveiled projects worth Rs 3.35 crores developed from her MP local Area Fund. Sonia’s daughter
