22-year-old hotel thief arrested in Hubballi, 1.15 lakh recovered

HUBBALLI: Police arrested Ambarish Irappa Nitali, 22, of Revanki village, Yalburga taluk of Koppal district, for stealing money from a cash counter at the Sagar Palace vegetarian hotel at JC Nagar here on Thursday.
They recovered Rs 1.15 lakh in cash from him. According to police sources, Rs 1.33 lakh was missing from the cash counter of the hotel on May 25.
Police checked the CCTV footage which showed a person taking the cash.They identitfied the thief as Ambarish. Police rushed to Koppal district and picked up Ambarish.
Interrogation revealed that Ambarish was a cook and had been working at Sagar Palace for a few months. Even after quitting, he'd visit the hotel frquently. On May 25, he saw no one at the cash counter and stole Rs 1.33 lakh. The pplice team, which carried out the arrest, was headed by inspector Shyamraj S Sajjan.
