Schools elated over CBSE results

A majority of schools have achieved excellent results with a large number of students earning a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 10.

City schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have much to celebrate after the results of Class X were announced on Thursday.

Like in the Class 12 results announced earlier this week, the majority of schools performed well in this year’s Class X examinations, with a large number of students scoring a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 10. CGPA is the average of grade points obtained in all the subjects, excluding the sixth additional subject as per the Scheme of Studies.

Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) at Pangode and Akkulam have achieved hundred per cent results. Of the 163 students who appeared for the examinations at KV, Pangode, 29 scored a CGPA of 10 and of the 91 who appeared for the examinations at KV, Akkulam, 34 students secured a CGPA of 10.

Of the 74 Class X students in Jyothis Central School, Kazhakuttam, 26 scored a CGPA of 10 and 29 scored between 9 and 9.9 grade points. The remaining 19 students scored between 8 and 8.9 grade points. St. Mary’s Central School, Poojappura, posted a cent per cent pass with 36 students securing a CGPA of 9 and above. Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallam, has achieved hundred per cent results with 61 securing a CGPA of 10, 279 of them securing distinction, and 20, a first class.

Of the 40 students who appeared for the examination at the Shanthiniketan School, 10 secured a CGPA of 10 and 38 of them secured a distinction. Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Naruvamoodu, has secured cent per cent results with all its eight students securing a CGPA of 10. At Blue Mount Public School, all the 107 students who appeared for the examinations passed and 15 secured a CGPA of 10. Fifty students secured a CGPA of above 9. In Sree Narayana Public School, of the 140 students who appeared for the examination, 16 secured a CGPA of 10. In Chinmaya, Attukal, of the 122 students who appeared for the examinations, seven secured a CGPA of 10 and 35, a CGPA of 9 and above.
