A girl with a severe eye disability has scored 6.4 CGPA in CBSE Class X. Gudia Yadav, a student of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35 has partial vision since childhood.
She had to undergo two laser surgeries to attain a minimal vision. She even had a prosthetic eye installed over her left socket in July last year . Despite all these, she managed to do well in studies. Speaking to Newsline, She said, “Reading and writing has always remained a challenge for me but I managed it with the help of my family members and teachers. She was full of praise for her fellow students who helped her in her studies.

Hailing from Uttar Pradsh, her father owns a shop and sells incense sticks and other items used for worship in the Sanatan Dharm Mandir in Phase7, Mohali. She dreams of becoming a jewelery designer. “I am eager to study further, and my disability is not at all a deterrent. I will achieve my goals”, she said.
