The forest personnel with the help of local police, and local Magistrate conducted raids at three saw mills located under Rajnagar block. During the raid, the forest personnel arrested two people and seized timber woods, saw mill equipment worth of more than Rs seven lakhs on the charges of illegally operating the saw mill during night without valid license and violating the saw mill statute. Kanika Forest Ranger Akhay Kumar Nayak said the arrested people were later produced before the local court under Section 4,8,10,13,16 of Orissa Saw mill and saw pit control Act ,1991; Section 56 of Orissa Forest Act,1972.
