Wife objects to liquor consumption, man ends life

SURAT: A 28-year-old youth ended life after heated argument with wife about his drinking habit. The man hanged self to ceiling using a dupatta at his residence in Bamroli area of the city on Wednesday.
Simod alias Karan Pal, resident of Krishna Nagar in Bamroli area, was found hanging in his room on Wednesday evening. His wife Pinky first spotted him and she alerted cops.Pal was shifted to hospital for post mortem. The examination revealed that he died of hanging, police informed.
Pal came home in drunk condition on Wednesday evening after which his wife argued with him. His wife fought with him many times in recent past over his drinking habit. Upset with her husband’s regular drinking habit she requested him to discontinue drinking. But Pal continued drinking liquor and it led to regular tussle among them. The couple got married around two months ago and soon after marriage dispute among them started due to Pal’s addiction.
Following an argument on Wednesday Pal locked self in room and hanged himself to a hook in ceiling, police informed. Registering a case of accidental death police have started investigation in the case. Police will register statement of the wife, other family members and neighbours to find out more details.
