London Bees boss Julian Broomes says his side can look forward to the second half of the Women's Super League Two season after beating Millwall Lionesses 2-1 on Wednesday.

Ashleigh Goddard's brace either side of Rosella Ayane's calm finish for Millwall was enough to earn the Bees a first win of 2015.

"It feels marvellous," Broomes told BBC Sport. "It's been a long time coming.

"It's a massive boost. We can all have an eye on the future now."

The result lifted the Bees off the bottom of WSL 2, while Millwall remain sixth.

"We don't want to be bottom," Broomes added. "We know this is a hard league but we know we've got to be better than we had been in the last few games.

"We've changed the formation and gone with a 4-4-2 diamond, and it suits the girls better. They just needed to learn to manage the game.

"I'm pleased with the improvement over the first half of the season and we're looking forward to the second half of the season now."

London Bees' next league game is at home to Oxford United on Sunday, 12 July after the Women's World Cup.
