2015 Ford Figo hatchback spotted undisguised

While promotions of the Ford Figo Aspire have commenced with the car recently being showcased in Mumbai, testing of its hatchback sibling, the Figo continues.  This time round the hatchback has been spotted undisguised revealing further details. 

Up front the Figo hatchback looks identical to its entry-level sedan sibling. It sports the same large four-slat grille up front with those large pulled-back headlights on either side of it. In fact going by the spy shots, the Figo hatchback shares the same bumpers as well, with the thin air dam and the fog lamps. The rear of the car sports a rather clean boot lid with just the badges to flaunt.   

Like the Figo Aspire, the hatchback too will come with a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol mill that makes 70PS of power and 102Nm of torque. It will also be offered in diesel form with a 1.5-litre unit. At 90PS it makes more power than the petrol version and has a torque rating of 204Nm. Both these units will come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The launch of the Figo Aspire is now around the corner, and soon after that, Ford is expected to hit the high gear to speed up the launch of its hatchback offering. The Ford Figo hatchback will compete against the likes of the Tata Bolt, the Hyundai Grand i10 and the Maruti Suzuki Swift. It is expected to be launched at between the Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh range.
