Obama to meet South Korea president June 16

The administration's Asia agenda takes center stage June 16 as President Obama meets with South Korea President Park Geun-hye at the White House.

Among the topics: North Korea and its nuclear weapons, the rise of China, friction with Japan, and the proposed trade agreement involving the United States and Asian nations.

Park's visit, her second to Washington as Korean president, "will underscore the strength and breadth of the U.S.-Republic of Korea partnership and demonstrate the close personal ties between the U.S. and Korean people," said a White House statement.

It added that Obama and Park "will also chart the expansion of our cooperation into new areas that will increasingly shape the relationship in the 21st century such as environment, health and cybersecurity."
