WASHINGTON: Having lost his maiden US Congressional bid in a high profile contest last year to Congressman Mike Honda, Indian-American Ro Khanna is all set to announce his second bid for the US House of Representative from California.
Khanna, 38, who has the backing of some of the top executives of the Silicon Valley, is scheduled to announce his second Congressional bid on May 30, his office said in a statement.

"Khanna will join hundreds of grassroots supporters, elected officials, community leaders and residents of the district in announcing his candidacy for US Congress," a statement said.
In last six months, Khanna has remained an active voice in the district.
He has teamed up with San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo on the city's manufacturing initiative.
He has also stood with the residents of Santa Clara in urging the City Council to ask the football team in San Francisco 49ers to pay fair market value on the parks and soccer fields surrounding a stadium.
Khanna has the backing of many tech and community leaders who supported him during the last campaign cycle.
Many of these leaders donated to Khanna's campaign during the first fundraising quarter.
