ONTARIO – Pure Gold Mining of Vancouver continues to hit zones of high grades near the surface at its Madsen gold project 16 km west of Red Lake.

The project includes the former Madsen and Starratt-Olsen mines that together produced more than 2.5 million oz of gold. There is a headframe, permitted mill and tailings facility at Madsen. The property hosts 3.24 million indicated tonnes at 8.93 g/t Au plus 790,000 inferred tonnes at 11.74 g/t Au.

The company hopes to restart production.

Two zones – Russet South and Fork – have been the targets of recent drilling. New highlights from Russet South include 6.5 g/t Au over 1.3 metres and 20.0 g/t Au over 0.7 metres. The Fork zone recently returned 8.4 g/t Au over 1.6 metres and 7.3 g/t Au over 2.5 metres.
