Soni, Selja asked to vacate bungalows

May 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated November 16, 2021 07:48 pm IST - NEW DELHI:

Two former Union ministers Ambika Soni and Kumari Selja would have to vacate their bungalows in the Lutyens’ Zone by June 10 as directed by a quasi-judicial authority in the Ministry of Urban Development.

The authority is tasked with the responsibility of evicting unauthorized occupants under Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act.

“On May 25, the authority issued eviction orders in respect of government bungalows occupied by Ambika Soni (22, Akbar Road) and Kumari Selja (7, Motilal Nehru Marg),” a UD ministry official said.

The order, officials said, was issued after hearing from advocates of both the former ministers who presented their point of view to the quasi-judicial authority earlier this week.
