Nagpur: The traditional killer
subjects in state board’s
Std XII suddenly don’t seem that scary anymore.
Pass percentages in all subjects, across streams, are rising drastically. Every subject in
HSC 2015 had over 90%, which ultimately resulted in a higher overall success rate.
There was a time when English and
Math were feared by students because of the low success rate. However, this time English had a pass percentage of 91.55% even though 12.84 lakh students appeared for it.
Even Math and statistics had a pass percentage of 95.15%. This all points to lenient marking and to some extent ‘easy’ question paper pattern. While these reasons remain in the speculative domain, one can safely assume that the collective intelligence of students across the state has not increased by leaps and bounds.
