Tabu approached to step into Rekha’s role, after the senior actress walked out

Barely a couple of days after her portions in Fitoor were canned, Rekha opted out of the film.

Reportedly, the veteran actress was not pleased with her look in the Abhishek Kapoor directed film and felt nothing could salvage it. This has left the makers in the lurch. Last heard, they had rushed to Lokhandwala to request Tabu to step into Madam Re’s shoes in this Bollywood adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novel, Great Expectations.

However, till the time of going to press, the actress who played Shahid Kapoor’s mother in Haider wasn’t sure if she wanted to play Katrina Kaif’s mother figure.A source revealed that Tabu is still mulling over the offer. She was expected to reply to the makers by Wednesday.
