Delaney 'shocked' by FIFA corruption scandal; says FAI won't vote for Blatter
The head of the FAI John Delaney has said he is shocked by the FIFA corruption scandal.
Seven top world football officials have been arrested in Switzerland over bribery allegations.
It is claimed they were involved in a racket involving kick backs adding up to around €137m.
Police have also opened an investigation into how FIFA awarded the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Its president Sepp Blatter - who is up for re-election on Friday - is not implicated in either investigation.
FAI chief John Delaney said the FAI will nonetheless not vote for Blatter to retain his presidency of the organisation.
"I made it very clear the FAI would not vote for Sepp Blatter as president of FIFA," he said.
"Even though he's not directly involved in anything that's happened overnight, he has presided over FIFA.
"He has been the man in charge while all of these corruption and bribery allegations have been floating around FIFA for years. It's shocking."
