The Arab world went wild on Monday, when the star of obscene Egyptian music video "Seeb Eidy" (Let go of my Hand) Salma El-Fouly was arrested for "inciting debauchery and immorality," the Ahram Arabic news website reported.

The cringeworthy video, uploaded on YouTube last week, immediately went viral after gathering 1.8 million views, while the hashtag #SeebEidy trended like crazy.

Social media users rejoiced at the singer-dancer's arrest, whom they described as a "disgrace and a b*tch."

Skeletons in the closet

While El-Fouly's arrest didn't come as much of a surprise to many, this news just in might raise your eyebrows!

This was not the woman in question's first arrest. Yep, this dancing disaster has at least 11 previous convictions, including three brawls, two thefts, four incidents of prostitution, one for inciting prostitution and the last is for beating up her own father, reported Al Watan Voice.

Following her arrest at a coffee shop in Al Muhandiseen area in Cairo this week, El-Fouly admitted that she wasn't actually singing in the video; those were in fact the vocals of a singer called "Menna," who was once a contestant on a singing competition show.

She also revealed that the video clip was filmed in her producer/ partner-in-crime Wael Desooki's apartment. Perhaps the term "partner" doesn't describe him so well anymore, as he bailed on her (reportedly fleeing to Tunisia) as soon as things got too hot to handle in Egypt!

Pictures of a handcuffed El-Fouly surfaced the Internet on Wednesday; she looked worse for wear, to say the least. Rotana TV host Tamer Ameen sarcastically told El-Fouly, "Let those handcuffs 'leave your hand' next time."

El-Fouly is set to appear in court for her first hearing on Thursday, 28 May.
