BHOPAL: A mystery bullet hit a biker on Monday night while his wife and daughter riding pillion, suffered splinter injuries. Despite a stinging pain with a bullet lodged in his shoulder, he drove his bike to a hospital.
It was not clear who opened fire or whether biker was target. Misrod police have lodged a case of attempt to murder against unidentified accused.

Police said Rahul Pandey, 39, resident of Chinar Fortune, was returning from a clinic at E-7, Arera Colony. His wife, Deepa and daughter, Riddhima, were also with him.
Since the Bawadia Kalan railway crossing was shut, he drove towards the Salaiya side when the biker thought he heard a tyre-burst. The man braked to check his wheels, but seconds later he felt a pain shooting through his back. He found blood oozing from his back and he realised he was shot at. The man, who works as administrator at a school in Mandideep, sped towards the hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Police later reached the spot and registered a case. Family told police they have no enmity with anyone and there was no reason for being fired upon. Police said statements of victims are being verified. There was also a possibility that assailant was at the spot to target someone else, but by mistake opened fire on Pandey. Police are basing their assumption on the fact that had Pandey been the target, he would have been shot from front and not from the back.
