Speaking at the function, vice-chancellor of AMU Sameerudheen Shah said that construction of academic block would be completed within a year and new courses would commence in the next academic year.

Education minister P K Abdurabb inaugurated free Wifi facility on campus. Urban affairs minister Manjalam Kuzhi ali inaugurated the biodiversity conversion project on the campus.
The centre is now functioning in 343 acres area in Chelamala near Perinthalmanna town. BA, LLB and BEd classes are at present being held at temporary buildings on the campus.
Three six-storeyed buildings would be constructed as part of the development work. The expected cost of the first phase construction work of permanent building for the centre is around Rs 95 crore. The director of the centre A H Abdul Azees said that the work of academic block would be completed first and Rs 28 crore has already been sanctioned for this.
