Probe into misuse of drug begins

Additional Director (Mother and Child Health) Dr. K. Sudhakar Babu on Tuesday conducted an inquiry into the allegations against the Zonal Malaria Officer Dr N. Dasaradha Ramaiah during his tenure as the District Medical and Health officer in Chittoor during 2013-14.

Paramedical staff from various PHCs in the district made complaints against the former DM&HO, statistical officer George, programme officer for district level training Muniratnam, and Officer Superintendent Shiva Kumar.

The allegations against the officials included consuming liquor and misbehaviour with women employees; effecting deputation of officials by seeking bribes to the tune of lakhs, misuse of drug stocks at various health centres; submitting of fake vouchers in the name of conducting training camps; misplacement of computers in large numbers and maintaining no records; and unauthorised collection of mamools from the paramedical staff in the health centres.

The Inquiry officer would submit his report to the Health Commissioner .
