Rocket Fired From Gaza Strip Lands in Southern Israel

Subscribe
Explosions were heard near the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, following the sound of rocket sirens.

Israeli police confirmed one rocket had been fired into Israel from across the border with Gaza. Earlier Israeli media reports said at least five rockets were fired, but it was later determined electronic sensors monitoring for rockets may have given faulty reports.

At this time, no damage or injury has been reported. The ballistic remains of one rocket were found near the city of Ashdod, about 20 kilometers from the border with Gaza.

Security forces are investigating the incident, and the Israeli army has identified what it believes to be the launch site.

No group in Gaza has claimed responsibility for an attack.
