Tech Mahindra hopes the current downturn will give way to growth over this year and next. Chief executive officer and managing director CP Gurnani told Rhik Kundu on the sidelines of a conference that he expects the company to consolidate and integrate its acquisitions in the next two quarters. Excerpts:
How do you plan to improve your Ebitda in coming quarters? What will be your focus areas?
During the next two quarters, our focus will be on consolidating and integrating our acquisitions (LCC and SOFGEN). These are key to our business since they have given us a presence in new verticals. Our aim ultimately will be to significantly improve our Ebitda levels.
Global IT spend is set to shrink 1.3% in Fy16, says Gartner. How will this affect your business?
For most companies nowadays, it’s the chief technology officer’s (CTO) budget that is important. There is a chief marketing officer and chief digital officer in companies with technology spend.
Overall, there is growth in the business. There could be a nominal impact, but the market is changing and so is technology consumption.
Which are the key geographies you see demand for your services coming from?
Europe is always going to a key geography for us.
