Two robbed in different parts of Bengaluru

An unidentified man posing as a customer robbed a 55-year-old staff of a courier company off her gold chain in Kodigehalli on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Lalithamma, a resident of Sahakara Nagar in Kodigehalli who was attending to customers, when a man aged around 30 years, approached her with a package on the pretext of sending a courier.

In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged that the miscreant, in a bid to divert her attention, had written a bogus address and asked her to courier it. While Lalithamma was checking for the pin code, the miscreant snatched her gold chain weighing 48 grams and fled the spot.

By the time the victim could raise an alarm, the miscreant had successfully managed to escape. She immediately approached the police and lodged a complaint. “The police, with the help of an artist, have prepared a portrait of the miscreant. The police are also retrieving the CCTV footage and will soon nab the culprit.” A case of robbery has been registered in this regard.

27-year-old robbed

In another incident, two men in motorcycle waylaid a 27-year-old private firm employee and robbed him of cash and mobilephone near Dickenson Road in Ulsoor in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to police, the victim Kannan Gill, a resident of Frazer Town was returning home on his motorcycle when the accused confronted him. Sensing trouble, Mr. Kannan tried to flee, but the miscreants followed him and stopped him. They threatened him and snatched away his wallet, containing Rs. 4,000 cash, a mobilephone, a laptop and fled the spot.
