NEW DELHI: There does not appear to be any respite from severe heatwave conditions in many parts of the country as the
Indian Meteorological Department (
IMD) on Tuesday afternoon predicted such conditions to continue in Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and parts of Odisha for at least next two days.
Special coverage: Heatwave engulfs India Asking people to be vigilant of such conditions, the IMD said, " Andhra Pradesh and Telangana which experienced severe heatwave conditions over the last few days will continue to have heatwave conditions over today and tomorrow also.
READ ALSO: Death toll in AP, Telangana rises to 432 "Heatwave conditions are also to prevail in parts of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh over next two days".
The country's national weather forecaster, however, predicted fall in temperature in many areas from May 28 onwards. It at the same time in its latest weather bulletin predicted heavy rainfall in parts of northeastern states from Wednesday onwards for the next three days.

(TOI photoby Mahesh G) It said, "Fall in day temperatures by about 2°C over Andhra Pradesh,Telangana and Vidarbha from May 28 onwards leading to abetment of heatwave conditions is predicted.
"On the other hand in the north-eastern states of the country, heavy rainfall is predicted in isolated places for tomorrow and over next three days".
