Karnal, May 26

BJP national president Amit Shah today lauded Narendra Modi government’s one year in office and listed the initiatives taken by the Prime Minister for making India a world power.

He also accused the Congress of not taking any step to tackle black money menace despite being in power for 60 years and questioned its right in demanding a reply from the BJP.

“No government took even a single step for last 60 years against black money. Modi government is the only government that has taken steps, be it formation of an SIT or bringing a new law to prevent black money from going abroad.

“BJP pledges that not a single penny will go out of the country now,” Shah said while addressing the Jankalyan Parv rally here, organised to mark the first anniversary of Modi’s government in office

“We had started our innings amid an environment of rampant corruption, frustration, dissatisfaction, terror and inflation, and promised to change the system, which we have done,” he said.

In his 15-minute-long speech, the BJP chief highlighted the initiatives taken by the Central government for the benefits of farmers.

He said, “PM Narendra Modi is very serious about the plight of farmers and has taken several decisions for their welfare. The government has provided one-and-a-half times more compensation in comparison to the last government.”

“The Modi government has initiated soil health card for farmers, from which they could easily know about the health status of their fields and use fertilisers accordingly,” he said.

“The BJP government has taken a historical step. The opening of accounts for the poor was a dream, but due to Modi’s vision, more than 15 crore bank accounts were opened during one year. Modi also ensured accidental insurance in Rs 12 and a life insurance in Rs 330, which shows a government of common people.”

He also listed “Make in India” and “Skill India” initiatives and said for generating employment among youths, the Central government had taken these initiatives, which would further help to make the economy strong.

Attacking the Opposition, he said they are demanding a reply from the BJP which has given its account directly to the people and asked what they have done in the 60 years.

“The people are demanding an answer from you,” he said.

“We have restored confidence among people about the government and initiated clean Ganga, ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ and ‘Clean India’ schemes to involve people in the government,” Shah said.

He said the BJP-led NDA government has laid a strong foundation for the country that will help India achieve a respectable position in the world in the next four years.

Shah said, “This is just a beginning. The Modi government has done the work of laying a strong foundation in the country. In the next four years, a grand structure will come up on it.

“I assure you that at the end of five years this government will ensure a respectable place for India on the world map.”

He cautioned people against falling for “illusions” spread by some against the Modi government and said it has not done a single such task that will make Indians bow their heads.

Meanwhile, the BJP chief launched a digital publicity clipping highlighting the achievements of Modi’s government. He also listed the achievements of Haryana government and praised the initiatives taken by CM Manohar Lal Khattar.

CM Khattar assured the gathering of fulfilling his promises made during the last Assembly elections.

He said, “I had done work by keeping aside the cast and region factors.”

State party president Subhash Barala, BJP MP Ashwini Chopra, Cabinet Ministers Ram Bilas Sharma, Capt. Abhimanyu, Anil Vij, Kavita Jain were also present at the rally. (With inputs from PTI)
