Dundee have confirmed that Kyle Letheren will be released when the goalkeeper's contract ends at the end of this month.

The 27-year-old Welshman joined Dundee after leaving Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock in 2013.

Letheren, previously with Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers and Plymouth Argyle, helped Dundee win the Championship title last season,

But he lost his place to Scott Bain after picking up an injury.

Letheren, who had made 17 appearances this season, returned to the side for the first time since December for the final three games of the season following an injury to the 23-year-old.

His final game for the Dark Blues was a 3-0 derby defeat by Dundee United on Sunday.

Paul Hartley had already told five other players they would not be offered new contracts as he re-shapes his squad.

Forwards David Clarkson and Paul Heffernan, defender Kyle Benedictus, and midfield duo Iain Davidson and Jamie Reid are leaving Dens Park.
