Four tenants sign up at £4m Oyster Wharf

Two restaurant chains are among four tenants to have agreed property deals at the new £4m Oyster Wharf development in Mumbles, Swansea.

Collectively, the new tenants are expected to recruit between 55 and 60 staff.

Acting for the landlord, Nextcolour Developments, agency EJ Hales secured restaurants Prezzo and Loungers.

Italian chain Prezzo has agreed a 25-year lease for a 4,300 sqft building while Loungers has signed a 15-year lease on a 4,500 sq ft property. The restaurants will undergo a combined fit out of more than £1.2m.

EJ Hales also worked with Cooke and Arkwright to sign up retailers Seasalt and Joules.

Seasalt has exchanged contracts on a 2,145 sq ft unit which will be its first store in Wales. Joules will move to a 2,135 sqft property from its current base in Mumbles. Both have agreed ten-year leases and expect to invest about £500,000 to fit-out the new stores.

James Morse, director at Nextcolour said: "Two further restaurant operations will be announced shortly to complement the mix and offer different dining experiences."

Phillip Morris, partner at EJ Hales, said: "The Oyster Wharf development is an exciting scheme which will certainly help boost trade in the area."
