The bowlers enjoyed a wonderful time in this edition of the tournament, with the left-armers enjoying a field day. Although there were no five-wicket hauls, there were 14 four-wicket hauls. Following the end of the IPL, here is a look back at the top spells in the 2015 edition.

1 Ashish Nehra (4-0-10-4) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore

It was one of the defining spells of IPL 2015. Ashish Nehra put in a performance that warmed the hearts of many. In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Nehra bowled accurately and strangulated them in spectacular fashion. In his third over, he got the wickets of Manvinder Bisla and Rillee Rossouw and after three metronomic overs, he had figures of 3-0-9-2. He came back in his second spell and got rid of Virat Kohli and Harshal Patel to finish with fantastic figures.

2 JP Duminy (3-0-17-4) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad in Vizag

The captain led from the front and gave Delhi Daredevils a major boost in this match. With the bat, he smashed 54 off 41 balls to help the team reach a decent 167 for 4. In response, David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan had given Sunrisers Hyderabad a great start. Duminy proceeded to cause damage with the ball and he changed the course of the match. In his second over, he bowled Dhawan with a straight ball and on the third ball, Warner got a leading edge and he snapped up the catch on his bowling. The double-wicket over changed the match and in his third over, he got rid of Ravi Bopara and Eoin Morgan to finish with 4 for 17. His efforts helped Delhi Daredevils register a close win over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

3 Chris Morris (4-0-23-4) vs Kolkata Knight Riders in Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

It was the crunch game for Rajasthan Royals and they responded to the pressure thanks to Shane Watson's unbeaten 104 which helped them to 190 for 9. In response, the the Kolkata Knight Riders batsmen carted the bowlers around the park barring one. Chris Morris proved to be the difference and if it was not for his spell, Rajasthan Royals could have been eliminated.

He removed Gautam Gambhir in his first over and after two overs, he had figures of 2-0-15-1. The turning point came in the 14th over of the match when he removed Andre Russell and Suryakumar Yadav and in the last over, he conceded just six runs as Rajasthan Royals sealed their spot in the knock-outs by registering a nine-run win.

4 Mitchell McClenaghan (4-0-16-3) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

The clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians was a knock-out match. In a high-pressure game, Mitchell McClenaghan bowled with purpose and delivered the knock-out blow to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He struck with his first ball when he removed David Warner for 6. In his third over, he sent back Eoin Morgan and at the end of his first spell, he had figures of 3-0-11-2 and Sunrisers Hyderabad never recovered.
