VARANASI: The declaration of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) senior school certificate examination (class XII) results left the students happy. The wait for the results ended in the afternoon, when the students punched in their roll numbers to check their marks.
Smart-phones were the most preferred gadget on which the students checked their results.The top score from the city was 97.4% achieved by two students, Ayush Deva of Delhi Public School and Charukeshi Bhatt of Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur.

Ayush attributed his success to his parents, teachers, friends and coaching institute. He appeared in JEE-Advanced on Sunday and had cleared JEE Mains with 269 marks. Both the toppers had scored 487 marks out of 500 and emerged as city toppers, also finding place among toppers of Allahabad region of CBSE.
The students of Delhi Public Schools, as many as 18 students scored more than 95% marks and above 62 students scored 90%-95%. Shivam Dubey and Chinmay Singh stood second and third, with 96.6% and 96% respectively, Vishal Lakhotia, Palak Jan and Shobhit Ojha of commerce stream topped with 95.2%. Anushya Sinha of humanities stream secured 96.2% and topped it. Also, eight students secured 100% marks in respective subjects.
The pass percentage of Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur, was 100%. As many as 32 students scored above 95% while 24 scored 100 marks in respective subjects. In commerce group, Sonali Agarwal scored 95.4% marks and Bireshwar Chakraborty scored 94.5% in science group. As many as 50 students scored over 90%.
According to Kendriya Vidyalaya, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) school authorities, 160 students appeared in class XII CBSE examination, of which 158 students passed, with 98.75% marks. All the 37 students of humanities stream passed, with Jagriti Upadhyay receiving 90.4% in humanities.Shivam Pandey of KV, BHU topped the school in the commerce stream. He got 95.2% by scoring 476 marks of 500. The second school topper was Rangoli Pandey. She got 89.8% marks.In the science category, Shreya Singh and Shresha of KV, BHU, scored 95% each and topped the school. Akarshika Mishra of the same school was the second topper in the school. She scored 94.8% marks.

The students of Central Hindu Girls' School, BHU brought laurels to the school. According to the school principal Chanchal Kumari, the overall result was 99%, 37 students of 210 obtained over 90% marks. Neha Pandey of science stream scored 97% and topped the school. The second spot in science stream was secured by Imon Chakraborty of same school with 95.8%. In the commerce category, Archana Kumara and Soumya Agarwal topped the school by bagging 94.4% marks each, while in arts stream, Adityanshu Bharadwaj topped with 94.8% marks.
The students who secured 100% marks in respective subjects include Arpita Basak in Hindi music (vocal), Asmita Parmar in history and Shraddha Singh in Hindi music (mel. Inst), school authorities said. The meritorious students of Central Hindu Boys' School, BHU also achieved 98% results. In maths group, Shiv Bhanu Singh scored 96% marks, Saurabh Kumar scored 93.6% in the arts group. In the biology group, Pranav Kumar Mishra, Abhishek Sawaika and Adarsh Agrawal scored 90.8% marks each.
