Youths thrash classmate

PANCHKULA: More than 10 students allegedly thrashed their classmate in Sector 14 over a recent verbal spat on Monday. The victim has been identified as Pinjore resident Shashank, a student of class XII.
According to the police, the youth had come to Sector 14 for his tuition when some of his batchmates thrashed him and tried to put him into a car. However, he managed to escape.The reason behind the incident is said to be some spat that took place among the students some days ago.
Station house officer Manish Kumar said, "We have registered a case on the basis of a complaint given by Shashank and the search for the accused is going on."
Police registered a case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person), 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC.
