MADURAI: A day after DMK treasurer M K Stalin addressed a public meeting in Madurai, councillors from the ruling AIADMK convened a meeting at the city corporation on Monday where they flayed him for his remarks against the state government. Kicking off the DMK’s poll campaign in Madurai, Stalin charged the AIADMK government of not fulfilling its promises.

Mayor V V Rajan Chellappa passing a resolution against the DMK leader said that Stalin gave lot of false information about the AIADMK regime which the people will not believe. “During the last DMK government, Stalin could not even enter into Madurai. But now he comes to Madurai without any hassle and addresses a public meeting which is a sign of good law and order situation in the city,” he said. tnn
The meeting also hailed Amma’s (J Jayalalithaa) swearing-in as chief minister for the 5th time by coming out victorious from all court cases, one of the resolutions read. The members hailed her for announcing schemes for the immediately after becoming chief minister.
The mayor also chided the AIADMK councillors for giving interviews to the media. In case of any grievances about the corporation, they can either approach him or the commissioner instead of giving interviews to dailies. In case of any grievances within the party, they can directly petition the party supremo Jayalalithaa instead of endorsing their grievances with paper cuttings, he warned them.
