NTPC plans to commission 4,000 MW unit in Telangana

Chairman and Managing Director of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Arup Roy Choudhury, has assured Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of commissioning 4,000 MW thermal power station, as promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, at Ramagundam, within four years.

Mr. Choudhury, along with Southern Regional Executive Director of NTPC, R. Venkateswaran, called on the Chief Minister here on Monday and discussed the proposed power plant. The NTPC officials agreed to set up the 4,000 MW capacity plant fully dedicated to Telangana at NTPC’s existing land at Ramagundam.
