Yakshagana shows

A three-day Yakshagana performance will be organised on the premises of Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple here from June 1. Artistes of Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Kala Mandali, Yadaneer, will stage the shows from 6.30 p.m. The ‘prasangas’ scheduled are Girija Kalyana, Abhimanyu-Rakta Ratri, and Sudarshana-Mainda Dwivida. The shows are sponsored by Karnataka Bank, a release said.

Admission to hostels

Backward Classes Welfare Department has invited applications for admission to its post-metric hostel for boys at Vamadapadavu and Bantwal for 2015-16. Admission to the post-metric hostel for girls at Vitla and at Panemangaluru and Vamadapadavu will also be done for the 2015-16 academic year.

Last date to apply is June 10.

EPFO camp

Employees Provident Fund Organisation conducted a camp at Baikampady Industrial Area recently to enlighten its subscribers on the Universal Account Number (UAN) and benefits made available to them through the medium of UAN. In the interactive session, the subscribers sought clarifications on various benefits of the schemes of the organisation. The camp was conducted in association with Kanara Small Industries Association.

Schools to re-open

on May 30

Schools will re-open in Dakshina Kannada on May 30, according to the Deputy Director of Public Instruction.

He has asked all schools to display details of fees and matters pertaining to the schools as per the government circular in detail prominently.

If schools did not do so action would be taken against them, he said in a release.

Branch opening

Vijayashree Souharda Credit Sahakari (Ltd.) will open its new branch at Gandhinagar on Kuloor-Kavoor Road on May 27 at 10.30 a.m. It was founded in 2000.
