EC directive to GHMC

State Election Commissioner V. Nagi Reddy has directed the GHMC to complete the process of delimitation and reservation of wards by October 31. At a meeting with senior officials here on Monday, Mr. Reddy said the process should be completed in stipulated time and GHMC elections taken up within 45 days after that. He also enquired about the process of election, funds, basic amenities, providing of electronic voting machines, requirement of electoral registration officers and returning officers, according to a press release. For the conduct of elections, the civic body would need around 50,000 personnel and a budget of Rs.36 crore, he said.
