CM is lying, says Eshwarappa

May 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - BELAGAVI:

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader K.S. Eshwarappa has alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is lying to the people.

Talking to presspersons here on Monday, he said that the Chief Minister, through newspaper advertisements, was making tall and false claims about the achievements of his government. Quoting reports of the Finance Department, he said that the spending for the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes through the Social Welfare Department was hardly 50 per cent of the Rs. 13,500-crore budgetary allocation during 2014-15. The government had spent only about Rs. 7,000 crore while claiming that it was for the poor and deprived sections coming under the Chief Minister’s definition of ‘Ahinda’.
