A seminar on ‘gender justice and development’ will be held here on May 31 in connection with the fourth International Study Congress being organised by the AKG Study and Research Centre by the end of the year.
The seminar was being held in association with the Patyam Study and Research Centre, programme coordinator R. Parvathi Devi said at a press conference here on Monday. It would discuss issues requiring intervention in different developmental sectors for ensuring gender justice, she said. She said the seminar would chalk out concrete proposals for ensuring gender justice in education, health, employment, and other sectors.
Ms. Devi said the seminar would be inaugurated by All India Democratic Women’s Association central secretariat member Mariam Dhawale at 10 a.m. at Kannur Municipal High School.
Papers would be presented by women activists from different parts of the country at various sessions on social rights of women, culture, law, employment sector, and administration.
A session on Kudumbasree and women empowerment would be held, she said. P.K. Sreemathy, MP, would inaugurate the valedictory session. T.N. Seema would also participate in the session. N. Sukanya would compile the proposals in the presentations, Ms. Devi said.
