The 57th Tulu film to be released in the region, ‘Dand’, will hit the theatres on May 29.
Produced by Sandhya Creations, the film has been shot in Mangaluru, said its producer Shodhan Prasad.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday he said that the film will be released in theatres in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi initially.
Later, there were plans to release it in Mumbai, Bengaluru and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Mr. Prasad, who has earlier produced ‘Nirel’, said that Arjun Kapikkad and Shilpa Suvarna were the lead actors in Dand. Ranjith Bajpe, director of ‘Nirel’, has directed this latest film, which has obtained a ‘U’ certificate, he said.

Mr. Prasad said the film had entertainment, romance also gives a social message regarding drug abuse and atrocities against women.
Other actors in the film include Sandeep Shetty, Anoop Sagar, Gopinath Bhat, Umesh Mijar and Subhash Bangera.
