Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) held a protest on Monday demanding recruitment of physical instructors and librarians in degree and pre-university colleges. The Department of PU Education and Collegiate Education had not initiated action to recruit physical education (PE) teachers and librarians even as they had set out to appoint 1,130 lecturers in government colleges for other subjects, they said. The State government had permitted recruitment of physical education teachers in 99 PU colleges and over 100 librarians in degree colleges.
