She shares the top position with Deep Bhattacharya of DPS, Ruby Park, in Kokata. Both of them have secured 493 out of 500.
“I was expecting 97% but was overwhelmed with my marks.
I used to study six to seven hours every day throughout the year. I scored 98 in maths, even though it was tough paper and I am really happy about that,” Namrata said.
Her scorecard read chemistry 99, English core 99, physical education 99, physics 98 and mathematics 98.
The central government-run Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) have done exceptionally well, registering a pass percentage of 97.94 against the average of 81% in the region comprising Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh. A total of 48,881 students appeared in the exam from the region, of whom 39,597 students have passed.
“Once again girls outshone boys in all school categories. In private schools, 88.8% girls passed against 80.47% boys, while in Kendriya Vidyalayas, 94.23% girls passed, as compared to 92.45% boys.
