NOIDA/GREATER NOIDA: On the completion of one year of the Modi government, a group of residents from Dadri and an NGO, Jai Ho, on Monday issued what they called a black paper against Union minister and Gautam Budh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma seeking his reply on promises and duties as a representative.
In the document, the residents asked him what initiatives he has taken as a member of parliament in the sectors of education, health, water, employment etc.
The residents also sought to know the details of the MP's budget. They said if the MP failed to reply to their questions within a week, they would hold a black flag protest against him and would not allow him to visit their areas.
In the document released to the media, the NGO and residents asked Sharma to list the development works initiated with the MP fund.
The residents also wanted to know the steps he has taken to make the DND flyway toll-free and the rail overbridge (ROB) at the Dadri railway track, which concern thousands of commuters in the district.
Sharma had promised to provide electricity to the district through NTPC but so far no action had been taken.
In their document, the residents asked the MP as to how many times he had met officials of the three development authorities Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway industrial development authorities to solve the issues of common men. That in the past one year the locals have had a tough time, especially when crops were destroyed and cancer had engulfed villages. They said they did not see Sharma visiting the affected farmers or the villagers.

The NGO said Sharma did not take up the farmers' issue when they were forced to commit suicide. "Nor did he initiate action to provide drinking water to villages where residents were dying of cancer suspected to be caused by waterborne germs," said Yaqub malik of Jai Ho.
"Sharma had claimed to provide help to cancer-affected families from the PM relief fund but the MP failed to provide a list of beneficiaries. The MP is misusing government schemes to mislead people," Malik said.
The residents wanted to know how many villages Sharma had visited after becoming MP of the district. They also asked what action Sharma has taken to provide employment to youngsters in the district.
They said that Sharma has even failed to start development work in Neemka village.
Earlier this month, a poster put up in the district declared Sharma "missing". The poster urged Prime Minister Modi to "return MP Mahesh Sharma to the residents of Gautam Budh Nagar district.
