Chennai records a pass percentage of 91.14% in 2015 CBSE examinations

The CBSE results are out today. Results were announced at 12pm and Chennai bagged the second place in overall performance.

COIMBATORE: Chennai girl Vidhi Maheshwari of Chettinad Vidyashram R A Puram is the national topper in the special children category in the CBSE class 12 board examinations, results of which were announced at 12pm on Monday.
The Chennai region also bagged the second place in overall performance, with 91.14% students passing the exam this year.
The pass percentage of Chennai region, however, has dropped from 92.89% to 91.14% this year.
A total of 51,121 candidates from 763 schools in the Chennai region (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Goa, Maharashtra, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Daman & Diu), and 46,590 candidates cleared the exam.
While 28,912 boys wrote the exam, 22,209 girls appeared for the exam. The pass percentage of boys in the Chennai region is 90.37%, and for girls is 92.13%.
