Chairman of the National Security Party Garnik Isagulyan think that former leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Gagik Tsarukyan has not left politics, he has only suspended his participation in political processes. “He can return [to politics] at any moment. Tsarukyan was left alone in the most difficult situation and even people who called on him to act left him along at that difficult moment,” Mr Isagulyan said. He thinks Tsarukyan’s teammates were wrong to keep silent during the government crackdown on Tsarukyan; they were to take to the street and start a hunger strike at Liberty Square. Speaking about Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the Eastern Partnership summit I Riga, Garnik Isagulyan said though short and brief, the speech was to have been made in 2009 when Armenia was beginning to initial the negotiated Association Agreement with the EU. « “In September, Europe left Armenia alone. Moreover, the events in Ukraine showed that the 'both…and' policy pursued by Armenia was right while Europe’s “either… or” policy is dangerous not only for the Eastern Partnership (EaP) members but also for itself,” said the Chairman of the National Security Party. Mr Isagulyan forecasts new political processes in Armenia in September. The constitutional reforms initiated by the authorities will result in the birth of new forces, who will fight against the constitutional reforms. In reply to journalists’ question whether Armenia’s second President [Robert Kocharyan] is possible to return to politics, Mr Isagulyan said ‘Kocharyan has never left politics.’ “Mr Kocharyan has all resources, including human resources, to be actively engaged in politics, and there are forces that fear his return,” he added.
