Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin the celebration of his government’s first anniversary at the public rally in Chandrabhan, a village in Mathura. The party has engaged as many as 6,000 party workers to gather a crowd of at least two lakh to make it a huge public event.

All senior leaders of the party are camping in Mathura for the past three days overlooking the preparations for the rally. BJP state general secretary Swatantra Deo Singh has been made in-charge of the rally. The party is mobilising people from all 11 districts of Braj and three districts of western region for the rally, which will also be attended by party workers from Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on the other hand, will hold the jan sabha at the Central Park in Connaught Place to highlight the achievements of the 100-day old AAP government.

Kejriwal may demand full statehood for Delhi, a key move in its ongoing tussle with the Lieutenant Governor, according to reports.
