: The police have imposed traffic regulations in the city in view of the Chief Minister’s mass contact programme on Monday. The regulations will be in place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., a press note said.
As per the new arrangements, all heavy vehicles except service buses coming from Changanassery to north of Kottayam should take the detour from Gomathy Junction at Chingavanam and take the Pakkil, Poovanthuruth, Kaduvakkulam, Kanjikkuzhy, Manarcadu, Thiruvanchoor Ettumanur route. Those heavy vehicles other than service buses going to the eastern side should also take the same route up to Manarcad and then take the Kottayam-Kumily road.
South-bound heavy vehicles other than service buses, coming from Ettumanoor should take the turn from Peroor junction, and take the Thiruvanchoor, Manarcad, Puthuppally, Njaliakuzhy, Thengana and Changanassery route.
Among the heavy vehicles other than service buses coming from the east through K.K. Road, those bound to the north should take the Manarcadu, Ettumanur route and those bound for south should take the Manarcad, Puthuppally route.
