Visually impaired kids shine in JAC arts inter

BOKARO: Seven visually impaired children of Asha Lata Viklang Kendra (ALVK) made their teachers and parents proud by passing the Class XII board examination with good marks.
The results declared by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday have brought joy in ALVK with three visually impaired children scoring first division marks and four others getting a second division.
ALVK, a school for special kids, claimed 100 percent result in Class XII board examination this year.
Nishtha Sharma, a visually impaired girl scored the highest in the school bagging 74.4% marks while a physically challenged boy Rahul Kumar stood second with 72%. Meanwhile, Kumari Krishana Dubey and Vijay Kumar Sen, both visually impaired obtained 69.2% and 66.6% marks respectively.
Nishtha secured fifth rank in Arts stream in the district. She bagged 82 marks in English, 63 in Hindi, 72 in History, 77 in Political Science and 78 in Music. Nishtha loves playing harmonium but aims to be an IAS officer. Daughter of a Chas Block office employee, Nishtha said “The credit of my success goes to my parents and teachers, who supported me in studying”.
Director of ALVK, Bhawani Shanker Jaiswal said that this year ten students had taken the examination and all have passed.
Apart from seven visually impaired children, three physically challenged children have also passed the examination. “We are very happy with their results. They have performed much more than our expectation,” said Jaiswal.
The children celebrated their success with the teachers in the school on Friday.
