INDORE: Two city lads Himanshu Yadav, 21, and Anshul Pawar, 22, have jointly set a new record for ‘Longest stay in ice coffin’. They stayed there for 3 hours and 3 minutes at Dusshehra Maidan here on Sunday. Names of both boys have also been entered in Golden Book of World Records.
National head of Golden Book of World Records Manish Vishnoi gave away certificates to both boys.

“Breaking the record of Ankur Singh of Indore who stayed for 2 hours and 15 minutes in an ice coffin in 2013, Himnashu and Anshul have had their names registered in the record book under group category,” confirmed Vishnoi.
Himanshu, an architecture student, and Anshul who is pursuing LLB, are both Taekwondo players and had been practicing the act for the last three months. “We used to practice daily under doctor’s prescription and guidance and stuck to a special diet,” said Himanshu.
“When we started practicing at first we used to stay in the coffin for 25 minutes and gradually started increasing the duration. Our maximum time recorded was 2 hours 15 minutes,” said Anshul.
Both Himanshu and Anshul were inspired by their group member Bhaskar Joshi who had his name entered in the in Golden Book for ‘Most punches in 15 minutes’. “We all learn Taekwondo at the same institute and we thought of utilizing physical strength in unique activities, therefore we opted to stay in a coffin for long,” said Anshul.
