An accused wanted in a 19 years old murder case was arrested near Fardpur village in Mainpuri district on Sunday.

KANPUR: An accused wanted in a 19 years old murder case was arrested near Fardpur village in Mainpuri district on Sunday.
The accused carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head and a red corner notice was issued against him.
On September 6, 1996, six persons were shot dead near railway crossing near Bhogaon police station when they were returning from Bewar area of the district.

They were identified as Gajendra Singh, Mahesh Singh Yadav, Ashok Parihar, Naresh Dixit, Rajesh and Devendra.
Surendra Singh of Garia village in Bewar had lodged an FIR with Bhogaon police against 10 persons, including Raj Bhushan of Bewar. Raj Bhushan has been absconding and red corner notice was issued against him.
He was reported to have gone to United States, where his daughter was living. Eight people named in the FIR were arrested while Bhushan continued to evade arrest.
These eight people were tried by session’s court and were convicted for life.
They are serving their sentence. Another accused Anand surrendered in court and was acquitted for want of evidence.
Acting on a tip-off, STF intercepted a vehicle in which Raj Bhushan was moving at the crossing close to Fardpur village in Bhogaon and arrested him.
