GDA sets deadline for rail bridge near Pratap Vihar
GHAZIABAD: After inspecting projects along NH-24, GDA vice-chairman Vijay Yadav on Sunday asked the works and engineering department to complete them within stipulated time.
Yadav reviewed progress of work on a service road along NH-24 in Indirapuram, and a railway over-bridge (ROB) near Pratap Vihar that will eventually link NH-24 with NH-58.
"Directions have been issued to officials to ensure glitches in the way of these projects are smoothened, in co-ordination with different agencies and departments.
Our target is to complete the service road by July 31. The ROB must be done by December 31 for it to be opened by early 2016," Yadav told TOI.
The 1.5-km service road (from Gaur Green Vista to Gaur Green Avenue) is being built to ensure traffic for Indirapuram flows smoothly. It is a pilot project to ascertain feasibility of service roads along NH-24 that can decongest the highway. A cycle track and a central verge are among different works GDA is undertaking on the service road. Yadav directed officials to immediately begin work on service road stretches wherever land is available.
He asked officials to ensure the ROB near Pratap Vihar is completed by December 31. GDA has nearly completed building the approach roads. The ROB will give GT Road traffic a diversion to reach NH-24 directly from near Hindon river, without taking the Mohan Nagar-Link Road-Kaushambi route.
